Vinegar and Baking Soda - Saved the Day!

I may be exaggerating a bit by saying they saved the day, but, when you have a pot that you love, and you accidentally burned food in it to the point that NOTHING will get it clean, its upsetting and frustrating. Now granted, I could have gotten ready, went to the store, and bought those SOS scouring pads and that would have done the job, though it requires scrubbing, and like I said....I would have had to get myself ready and leave my house, yeah, that wasn't happening.  So, being one of the many people who have a Pinterest addiction, I remembered seeing where someone had posted about using vinegar and baking soda to clean a burned pot. Well, I didn't go searching online to find the specifics, I just grabbed my bottle of vinegar and box of baking soda and put a little of each in the pot.

I wish I had taken a picture at that point, because I don't care how young or old you are, its totally cool to see that fizzy, bubbly reaction.  At this point I just grabbed a new sponge and started wiping to see if anything was happening, and it WAS, as I was wiping, the burned horror was leaving...so I hurried and rinsed out the pot and grabbed my camera to show how burned the pot actually was, (you will notice scrape marks through the burned part, that is where I got so frustrated, I was using a butter knife to scrape the crud off!) and you can see the part that wiped clean, and when I say WIPED clean, I mean literally no scrubbing at all!

I then proceeded to add a little more baking soda and vinegar and finished wiping it clean.....

Now I will have to go to Pinterest and sit for long periods of time searching for more of these miracle worker ideas, and pinning my little heart out, because I am now a true believer.
